Your response rate shows the percentage of traveler applications you respond to, while your response time highlights how fast you do it. This information appears on your profile and impacts your ranking on Worldpackers as well as the traveler’s decision.
Basically, the quicker you answer, the more likely travellers will apply to your location and confirm their stay with you. And the more you answer, the bigger your options to have a volunteer confirming his trip.
Example of Response Rate: If you received 14 new applications in September, but only responded to 10 within the first 3 days, your response rate will be be calculated by dividing 10 by 14, that is 71%.
Example of Response Time: Let's say you've replied to a traveler after 4 hours and to another in one day. You're response time is the average time you took to reply both. So, (4 + 24) / 2 = 14 hours = 'less than a day'.
Tips to have a great Response Rate and Response Time:
- Respond to each traveller message within 24 hours or less;
- Do not let applications expire - decline them if you didn’t like the traveler’s profile or can’t host them at the time;
- Close conversations with the traveler you don’t want to receive (this is considered a response).
