Worldpackers is a platform that connects travelers & hosts, facilitating collaborative experiences that foster the development of people and projects in over 140 countries around the globe and, since each has their very specific laws and regulations, as much as we’d love to, we cannot provide any information or assistance regarding visas, documentation and/or legal advice, neither to travelers nor hosts.
That’s why we recommend all our users to check with the local authorities about any possible restrictions or needs regarding volunteering. Hosts can also read our Terms of Use and Service to better understand how our service works.
As a host, it's not your obligation to provide any insurance, visa or documentation assistance to volunteers. Travelers are responsible for their own travel logistics and documentation involved, including tickets, passports, local transportation, travel insurance, and visas.
That’s why we recommend you, as a host, to request any information needed prior to the traveler's arrival and use the Recruitment features available on the platform to avoid issues during the experience.
We also suggest that, if you cannot offer any assistance regarding these matters, you highlight this information on your profile and on your Screening Questions to avoid getting messages about it. This way, you can filter the volunteers based on your needs.
Here's a good example for you to add on your Questionnaire in each volunteer position:
"Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with health & travel insurance, visas and/or documents. Have you secured a visa, insurance and made all necessary arrangements to visit us?"
