You've found an amazing experience at Worldpackers and are now worried about visas or immigration? Here are some of our tips about it :)
1. You're responsible for your documentation
Worldpackers is a platform that connects travelers with over 9,000 welcoming hosts, facilitating collaborative experiences worldwide to foster the development of both people and projects. We have hosts from over 130 countries where travelers can exchange their skills for accommodation, and Worldpackers is solely the facilitator of such connections.
As a traveler, you are solely responsible for all aspects of your trip's logistics, including but not limited to transportation tickets, passports, local transportation, travel insurance, and visas.
Since each country has its own unique policies that vary based on the travelers' nationality, the best place to check requirements is the consulate or embassy of the country you plan to visit.
This is an important step in planning your trip, so take the time to verify these requirements before confirming a Worldpackers experience.
Keep in mind that if any issues arise that prevent you from entering or staying in a particular country, Worldpackers cannot be held responsible in any way. So carefully prepare your documents to avoid any problems, alright? :)
2. Immigration Process
Every country has different visa requirements and immigration processes.
It's essential to research the immigration process in your destination country and ensure you have everything in order. It is the traveler's responsibility to have all the necessary travel documents in hand.
Worldpackers provides a confirmation email for each experience confirmed through our website. This contains the project's name and address, host contact details, and arrival and departure dates.
3. WP Community, Blog, and Academy
On our website, you can connect with other travelers through the Worldpackers Community. You can filter by the nationality and country of interest to find travelers who have recently stayed in the places you're considering. This functionality is also available to travelers who are not active members yet.
In your conversations, feel free to ask others about their immigration experiences, any challenges they faced, or useful tips they might have. They'll definitely have a lot to share and add, yet please keep in mind that consulting official sources is a must-do, as we mentioned above.
We also have the Worldpackers Blog, full of travel stories and tips from experienced travelers. Plus, our WP Academy can be incredibly helpful for you to get ready for your trip -- especially the Planning and budgeting for travel track.
